I know lots of people see them as the spawn of the devil but I quite like colortunes for setting the idle mixture needle.
For sorting out running mixtures there's nothing like a wideband lambda sensor though

AHA Gunsons. Thanks

Could anyone tell me is there 1 adjuster per carb, or one to do all?

Take it to your local friendly garage and get them to set it up in accordance with the MOT cat test using their gas analyser.

Thats what i did and it cost me all of £20

I went to a local MOT place and they let me use their gas analyser for free.

Adjust all the cylinders by the same amount, a little at a time.

I took mine to my local friendly garage. They hooked it up to the gas analyser and all the gaffer called all the apprentices and young 'uns over to watch. He then leant over the car and started turning the idle screws.

Just then there is a sort of melting nylon smell, all of a sudden the gaffer leaps backwards, starts hopping round the garage swearing

He'd only been leaning his shins against the exposed exhaust! Melted right through his overalls.

How the apprentices laughed at the old master!

After that, he left me alone to set it up myself, with the rest of the lads helping with readings etc.

Funny but he didn't even charge me!

Mike
