Cheep jump starter/compressor

Just bought one of those battery powered jump starters with built in compressor for inflating tyres, lamp and 12V lighter socket for powering other things, from maplin electronics for £20 if anyone is interested (17AH battery).

Regards
Hugh

Mate, they are gash! I bought one very similar to these a while back & after 6 months, the battery was knackered. Even when new, it would barely turn over a Pug 1.9gti engine. I hope yours is better!

I have been using one from Maplin about 3 years -- excellent only thing to watch is the socket the mains charger pugs into can sometimes give a bad connection resulting in an incomplete charge.

My local aldi has some in for 24 quid still. I had a blackspur one for a while which worked well. The compressor thing was handy. I left it flat for too long and the battery went. Make sure you flatten it and charge it every so often if you dont use it much,.
