Stolen Tax Disc

I just noticed some thieving low-life scumbag has stolen the tax disc out of my tin-top I cant see the point - it`s only got three weeks left - I only checked it as the reminder came in the post this morning........
I cant see much point in reporting it to plod , but how do I go on driving without it ? I was planning on going to Dettling next weekend , plus I need the car to get to work......

Its cuz I is blond , innit

I'd suggest you report it, precisely so you can drive the car without getting it swiped, or getting grief.

Having said that, just buy the new one and stick it on the car early??

You can only renew on or after the 15th day of the final month.

Someone nicked mine last year. You have to go buy a new one then ring DVLA and they'll send you a form out and you fill it in and they'll refund you however much you have lost out on. Was fairly straightforward really.
I would say report it if only to cover your arse and if worse comes to worse and it happens again it'll be recorded.
I don't think the police would do much about the missing disc though the offence is 'failing to display' but the council would most likely get a bit jittery if they saw it parked up in town or summat
