Forget BECs, you want a Drenth DG400...

Went to Kames today for the Sprint as mentioned last week by V8Kid (nice to speak to you incidentally).

Anyway, I saw the DAX Rush IRS as mentioned by Athoirs las week. This one. Apart from going like the wind and outclassing most things around, it had the most fantastic gearbox, a Drenth DG400. Seamless changes like you wouldn't ever believe.

A bit dear right enough. I believe 8,900 Euros is around 7 Grand.....

What a tool the whole car was really.

Plus another £8-900 for a bellhousing! Lovely bit of kit though; 260 bhp duratec with one of these behind would do nicely thank you

Oh I don't know, according to a recent thread apparently you can get a type 9 to do all that fancy sequential shifting for about £50 and a couple of weekends work..............

No need for cynicism, with the right knowledge and skills it's certainly possible to make either a purely mechanical or eletro-mechanical mechanism to do this. However with a synchro box you will never get the lightning fast changes that a dog box will give you so it's not really worth while if that's your goal.
