Loan of Trailer to move my locost project

Can anyone help ?

Have bought a part built Locost (rolling chassis) from a guy in Whitley Bay, Tyne & Wear (coincidentally the town where I also live !).

Unfortunately I don't currently have any secure dry free storage for it, and wont for up to a year until I get a garage built on side of the house- planning permission, builder sorted, bulding done etc.

Parents near Keswick, Cumbria offered to store it free but I need to tow it there on a trailer, and the only people I was banking on to lend me one are using theirs this Saturday when I need to move it.

Is there anyone reasonably local to Whitley Bay who could lend me a car trailer this Saturday for some beer tokens(pick it up early Sat AM or sooner and back on Sat approx tea-time) ???

Any help appreciated

Cheers

Angus

what does it weight? 400-500kg? you could possably tow it using a frame like this -

just bolt one together from angle and a cheap ball hitch

Locoboy is absolutely right if you tow a car it must be road legal. It is also doubtful whether towing dollies are legal for anything except recovery of a broken down vehicle.

Just a thought, would the seller wait until your friend's trailer is available?

Do hope you get fixed up.

John

As per my u2u, Indespension in Shiremoor will hire you a trailer for a day for a reasonable cost (about 1/5 of a Ron).
