Cortina upright rebuild - Info needed.

Hi,
I'm rebuilding my Cortina front uprights and need some information regarding the rebuild such as torque settings for the disc to hub bolts, endfloat settings for the bearings, what type of grease to use and anything else I should be aware of.

Also, I read somewhere that I should radius something on the upright before painting to avoid a potential SVA failure. Can anyone tell me what to radius (eg. steering arm) and what radius to aim for (eg. 2.5mm, 3.2mm?)

Cheers,
Craig.

Craig,

These are the torques from my Haines manual.

disc to hub---30--34 lbs (4.14--4.70 kg f m )
end float settings for bearings---tighten to 27 lb f ft (3.7 kg f m ) . Then slacken nut back by 90deg

not sure re: the sva point, I'll have a look at my manual.

Thanks Phil, that will let me reassemble the hubs.

Craig,

I just rounded of all the edges, not worth failing for the small effort it takes. And it also makes them look better IMHO.

Cheers
