replacement battery for MK indy

Hi

After my last post regarding battery problems it is now confirmed that the battery is knackered.

Now I have another problem. The HCB093 battery from Halfords fitted the Indy like a glove and had a decent col crank amp rating etc.

This battery is now discontinued . Hlafords do not stock a battery now with the following specs.

cold crank amps 515
amp hours 80

footprint size 200mmx170mm height 170mm

Anyone any idea of a battery that meets my needs and a national stockist that would do it.

Engine is a 2.0 pinto if that helps.

Many thanks
Nigel

Red Top 25 on mine. Turns the zetec over exactly and didn't need a charge during the year long build

thanks, forgive my ignorance but is red top a make?

If so I take it the model is 25. Where do you get these from?

Thanks
Nigel

Only snag with that is it's half the size and weight so will need a mod to the battery tray to fit. But saving weight is a good thing, Yes? Got the same in mine, also on 2L zetec.

80AH seems a little excessive for a 7 type car!

Trade Standard battery codes are all three digit - 035, 055, 075, 093

Just go down to your local motor factor and ask for a 093 battery

Or try this site --- just type in 093 in the search box
