What are these on my R1? (Warning - lotsa pics)
Ok, so here goes! - below are some pics of what I am not sure about on my R1 engine.
(Edited to add - carbed 4XV)
I have had my chassis converted to take an R1 engine and got it back recently, trouble is I don't have much of an idea about what the
hoses/cable/attachments are.
I have highlighted those things. In blue are hoses which I am pretty sure where they go. The green items are those which I am really not sure
about.
Please could you help me out?
Thanks
James

Pictures 1 and 2: breathers. Mine came with little air filters, like those in picture 2.
Picture 3: breathers (fuel overflow in case the float valve sticks open). They connect to the green cover missing off your cam chain tensioner,
visible under carb no. 4 to the right of the picture.
Picture 4: water out of the oil cooler. Send this to the rad.
Picture 5: top left: hot water rail to stop carb icing. Only affected mine when driving through freezing fog. I sent the little pipe from the
thermostat vent through this to the header tank. Bottom right: air breather to the crank case. Mine goes to a catch tank which has caught precisely
nothing in 3 years. Does blow air and sometimes steam so will be a source of noise.
Picture 6: bleed to the inlet of the water pump. My header tank feeds into this.
