To see how gear changes should be done. It sounds like he might as well have a car box in there, so I could only bear about a minute

I nearly dare not comment on this video after the last one,but I will anyway.

Yes Simon he did that on the last video,I notice he was using his clutch on his up shifts, which unbalances the car,and must put the clutch under a real strain, one of the main benifits of having a sequential gearbox is having the ability to change gear mid corner without getting the car unbalanced by having to depress the clutch,I don't no why he does it? unless he can't break the habbit.
But another good video, loads of traffic and accidents along the way, thought he was going to catch those bikes at one point.I think you must have to nearly live at the ring though to learn it,I can't see what all the fuss is about ring though,I would rather drive Cadwell any day of the week, not so far to go either.

I think he has to use the clutch as the box won't last otherwise, it's some massive HP, so better wear out a clutch then several boxes.
And maybe it might spin rear wheels when upshifting at full throttle and you don't want to suddenly spin the rear wheels in a fast corner

i have been to the ring several times, i still dont know it. I had a 500 bhp rx7 and only managed a 9.15 following someone who knew it. It takes a lot of bottle to go quick, especially if you dont know it. There is no run off at all, you pay for any armco you hit, even if its only brushed. IIRC its a 175 euro's per panel and they are 3 panels deep. You also pay for any closure, recovery, unless you have adac membership and then you have to get home!

Doing a 10 minute lap in any car isnt easy if its your first time, or even 2nd or third for that matter. When clarkson did it, he didnt have to worry about paying for anything!

If you have never been to the ring, i would highly recommend the whole experience. The Track is very challenging, the scenery if fantastic, the food is cheap, the beer is plenty and the people are friendly, any you can overtake where you like unlike trackdays here!

You can spend an afternoon just walking around the car park!
