Probably like most I experienced dark moments during the build (you know the sort - why the bu**ery b*llocks am I doing this? why won't this
fricking part fit? what's the meaning of a self-build?).
For those who haven't put it on the road yet don't despair the driving experience is like nothing else.
I've been out over the last two days, used two tanks of fuel and it's magic - more smiles-per-mile even than biking given the knowledge
that it's your very own handiwork!!
Keep at it.
Cheers, Pewe
And of course Omega \/ is right - the help & support on here is worth its weight in gold.

yip you're not wrong there
How very very true....
Steve
i think that most builders have been there , i know i have, and certainly in the past couple of weeks. its a totally different experience if you
haven't driven one before and an experience that you will never forget!
remember there is always support for builders in turmoil, please visit www.locostbuilders.co.uk for more information
It's even worse when you are making your own parts and they still don't fit !!!
had many a day like that !!!
I also find it just as much fun upgrading as i do driving !!!
Very true. I was out in mine saturday. Nice suny day and not too cold. Lovely.
Just need to fit my bubble screen so i dont need a lid. I get a double blast of wind in me eyes around me spectacles.
Certainly remember those moments of loss of enthusiasm during my 3yr build.
Often made worse by friends and family questioning why it didn't look any different after 3 months, why doesn't it look like a car, how much
is it costing you.....?
Then....finished (well ready for SVA anyway), SVA'd, registered taxed and OMG does it all become worth it
I remember the posty delivering my DVLA document with the Reg No. on a sunny March Saturday morning @ 10am and leaving the house without even saying
goodbye to go to Halfords and get some plates made. Didn't get home til gone 3pm with windburn (no helmet/screen), no fuel and feckin' daft
grin on my face
My buggy was totally terrifying when I took it out on the roads for first time, I’d only used it off-road for years at low speeds bouncing through muddy fields, but after a few weeks hard work found I had an MOT in my hands and so off I went, thinking this is a really bad idea going fast in this thing. But what attention it got though , seriously people nearly crashed there cars when they saw it, even got waves from bikers and kept getting asked ‘is that legal?!?!’ cheeky sods
