Towing dolly

If i have a towing dolly, can i use it with a normal car licence (licence passed post 97)?

I know it has to be used with road legal cars btw

as i understand it, yes, as long as the weight of both cars and the dolly isn't more than 3.5 tons/tonnes

as ever, only for recovery blah blah blah

Hmmm, that could be an issue. It will be used on a landy (3.5 ton) so i think that will mean limited to 750 kg for the recovered car?

Which Landy you got that is 3.5 T. Is it filled with LEAD.

A Landy weights about 2.5 T but can leagally pull upto 3.5 T. Porvided the operator has the correct license.

Not young drivers will need a trailer test to pull a braked trailer over 750KG.

A towing dolly is only for recovery because it onlu lift 2 wheels and the other two wheels (of the car) are un the road and unbraked. Technically if the tow weight is above 750KG all axles need over run brakes.
