Well call me sad, but the other day, i tried my Arai Condor lid on inside the car (In the garage of course) as i thought it would be very tight for a lid on track days.

Sure enough, i cant wear a crash helmet inside the car because of the shape of the roof and the small cockpit space.

Arai are the smallest lids on the market, and this one cost me over £300 a few years back (for riding bikes) and i douby ill get anything smaller to fit my head.

Short of turning the car into a spyder, what other options do i have for track days?

The seats are mounted on the floor itself, so there is no other movement insde the car.

Chop a big hole out the roof for your helmet?

How about sitting with your bum further forward (ie more layback on the seat)?

what car is that?! It looks like a melted ferrari!

If its a road car with a full screen, id just ditch the helmet.

do you have bucket seats? can they be mounted right to the floor? moved lower in any way?

the roof looks like its, erm, melted or something, sags in the middle? maybe just the photo, but can that be fixed? or is it supposed to be like that? or is it not like that at all?

How much room do you need.
Those Cobra's look rather crammed in and are probably more padded than you need/want.
A 'proper' racing seat may give you another inch or two, a foam and bin-bag job giving most - but might not suit the car.

Other than that roof modifications (or losing a vertebra or two) are the only real options.

The roof is supposed to be like that, and doesnt look as weird as the photo in real life.
It has a removeable section in the middle which i was toying with the idea of glassing in, but it might get a bit hot! The windows are fixed perspex.

The seats are mounted as low as they can go, and the padding is minimal. It has harnesses, and if not sitting in the seat fully, wont do the job they are designed to do very well, and would cause back injuries etc. They are FIA homologated seats and carry the tag on the side.

A Gurney Bubble might work, but would look very out of place in the already curved roof.

The car also needs a roll bar / cage to be fitted at a later date, as the roof isnt structural and wouldnt offer support if rolled over!! Ill sort this later with some hoops behind the seats to start with.
