Went to Schotland yesterday with Damdy cash
mangogrooveworkshop - 13/9/09 at 05:14 PM

We left the central belt sparrows fart and blasted up the west coast.

Saw some organ donors doing suicidal over takes blind rises around corners and one who went straight on at the bottom bridge on the Applecross pass.

A nutter in a 4x4 tried to take me out in the passing but ended up doing the ditch rock hilux interface.

So in the words of Damdy cash this is the Scotland Ive read about.
We had the late afternoon roads all to ourselves.

Some of the best driving Ive done this year.

Stopped at Titty mountian to sook the view.instead of blasting past link
Heres a map linkgoogle link

Mint, nice pics, excellent views..

Had a nutter in a M3 try it on round the twistys yesterday then spanked him down on a long straight

I see you stopped of at my house, Aileen Donan Castle if I'm not mistaken, looks like a great trip.

Cheers

Eilean Donan Castle.

Couldn't see it from the carpark for the rain when I went there

Drove past there a week or so ago! You were lucky to find some nice weather... we arrived in Nairn on the same day that Elgin (20 miles away) got 1 month's-worth of rain in 36 hours.

I must say that we saw some REALLY scary driving in Scotland over the past 2 weeks - but I couldn't say whether they were locals or tourists. For example, I drove up one steep pass that goes up into the mountains from Portree - big queue of cars following a slow lorry, with several nutters trying to overtake the lot in one go, on blind bends... I'm a very cool and laid-back sort of driver, but it scared the whatsit out of me!

Just got back from a weekend in Scotland in the MX5 with SWMBO.

Theres two bits of the route we had to leave out due to the time constraints on volker . Had we camped we would do the glenshee leg from bremar and go round loch lomand before cutting across to old bill. The road out of appleX was fantastic as we went later it was all deserted. Going further north wasnt an option this trip but next time we will do the blast up to the ness and through red eyes place up to the end of the land and over the top.

Its a fantastic place to visit and the west coast has some simply stunning driving roads! Was up there earlier in the year and will be back next year too.

Always some silly driving to be seen on the single tracks too!

I really wish I was that bit closer so I could take mine for a blast around there

Mango in motion!

BTW: The trip has realy give me back some fun on the seven . I think it was to much commuting only in the past!! Bad point on that, upgradeitis hurts again!

That reminds me of my trip up there earlier this year!

I think that shot is just after the run alongside the loch, where you go between the railway track / tunnels and the side of the mountain?

Then you go over the level crossing, work back along the opposite side of the loch, into the last petrol station. Then up the hill to the Applecross turn??

Thats it . Theres a campsite just there as well. The coffie is good at the strathcarron hotel. We think a run should be overnighted at skye or at the base of the cross next time.......... Next year maybe a final weekend before the dark nights and cold descend
