The down side of a kit car...

Thought I'd share my crappy journey last night.

I was dropping off my little sister in law, thought I'd take her in the kit car - its only 15 minutes and I promised ages ago Id take her out when it was sunny.

Set off, and all was good. now I can either go the motorway or the B roads through the middle of aintree.

Didnt fancy the motorway cos its not much fun in the kit car - so I went the back way - BIG MISTAKE!

I forgot about ladies day - bollox.

Had thousands of drunk people and numerous blocked roads to negotiate.

One prick took a kick at the car, but missed and another thought it was funny to squirt me and my little sister in law with water out of the bottle he was carrying.

To be fair the vast majority cheered and asked for a lift - but there are some tools out there and a kit car is not the car to 1) get stuck in traffic in 2) not draw attention to yourself.

Suffice to say the 15 minutes took 45 minites and I went along the motorway on the way home.

What a crappy first ride out for my sister in law!

There's always some t**t who thinks he can spray you with water/spit in the car/chuck a fag end in.

They always seem to forget that you can undo your seatbelt and get out of the car too...

Got caught in the rain once.
Could not believe how went you can get.

On the up side there is many more good times than bad

Another bad side side is siiting at the computer with some sort of Pig/Donkey flu, engine out for a sump mod and a very sunny day

Saw a report on the news about 'Ladies Day'. Appeared to be a load of p*ssed up chavs/WAG types rather than ladies.

I think it's more a downside of mixing alcohol and the morons than a downside of kit cars.

Ignore them and enjoy your car.

I quite enjoy going to the races but I wouldn't even contemplate going to Aintree this weekend. It's definitely become a lot more of a p*ss up than a racing fixture now.

That having been said, hands up all those who have not, at one time or another, been part of a p*ssed up group and done something that could have caused offence to others that, in the cold light of hangover, was probably a little stupid.

There were some HIDEOUS sights.

Lads in suits that hadn't been worn since they were last in court, and orange slappers with cheap small dresses on.

For every 1 girl that looked nice, there were about 20 disasters, chaved to the max thinking they looked like jordan, and that it was a good thing...

I prefer Aintree when the sprints are on! :-)

Even when it's pouring and the racing line is 6" deep in water - video
