Joined the SG7ers at lunch in Baldock today.
Lots of nice cars and good chat!
The clutch had been making little 'ting' noises on the way home and just as I was parking up on the drive it went 'TWANG' - no
more clutch...
Kermit has a great sense of timing
It would have been a mare getting home with no clutch
Yeah, that's good luck.
The last time a clutch went on me, I was about to board a ferry from Ireland, and after landing, had to drive from Fishguard to Liverpool - I decided
to follow the GPS, which took me pretty much "as the crow flies" across Wales. 3rd gear nearly all the way. With a car full of luggage.
During the new-year's snowy-blizzard spell. That wasn't a fun 4 hours

Making your gearbox an inadvertant crash box!
I remember losing the clutch on a suzuki Bandit down in kent once. Riding home 2 up in the rain with no clutch is quite an experience!
nightmares!
Richard, I have some bolts for you.
My nephew had a Sierra a couple of years ago and the clutch went in a big way on that. When we got it apart the thrust bearing was the wrong one and it had eaten the diaphragm springs and gone through them.
D'oh!!! Nasty - it's a good job I intend replacing the clutch when I stick the new gearbox in.
