Not overly interested in peoples special driving pants, but with the aero screen i normaly wear a helmet but have seen people in sunglasses, ski masks
etc,
so, what do you wear, anyone else fell a little silly wearing a helmet? or am i being an idiot.

you'll feel more of an idiot when the skip wagon on the M6 drops a couple of small bits of gravel and they bounce up and smack you on the forhead
at 70(ish) mph leaving a masive bruise and a streak of dried blood into your left ear
I did and would try and wear a helmet whenever I'm in a kit with no screen.
Sunnies are fine until a lorry wheelnut smacks you in the head at 70mph and knocks you out.
I would feel very guilty if I were to then go and kill someone because I didn't wear a helmet.
Just my opinion.

i wear a helmet if im goin on motorways or long journeys, but i like using the car just to nip down to town and round to friends etc.
Use a Full Face helmet every time.
For the reason given in the replies above.
Small stones, Wasps, Bees, and small insects.
They ALL hurt when they hit you at 70mph.
A bee or a wasp or Large fly could take your eyeball OUT of its socket at those speeds.
As a barest minimum, I would suggest Ballistic Grade lenses, like some of the Wiley X glasses (some will take a shotgun blast at 10 yards
).
Standard sunglasses may look good, but are no real protection, and you end up with tears from the wind. Decent driving glasses will have neoprene
seals around them.
Stick with the Helmet and visor.
Go to the BMF Bike show, there are loads going cheap there. I got an ACU Gold Spot Approved one (full face) for £35.

You only get one set of eyes in your lifetime... TAKE CARE of them.

If its dry I wear a wooly hat and a pair of safety wrap round glasses.. fine up t o 70mph then they blow off, or down over my face.

I agree- a crash helmet is a good idea. In my driving career I've had the rear bumper of a flat-bed truck fall off in front of me (doing 70mph,
no chance to swerve without crashing ended up running over the stupid thing) and also the rear light cluster of a Ford Transit (quite pretty, hit my
windscreen and shattered into a million coloured pieces, almost like going through a rainbow 
). Either could have been quite nasty.
And that's not to mention the over-ripe apple that fell off the tree and splatted itself on my windscreen. That would have been just plain messy
(luckily only going 30mph at the time so windscreen survived).
unusually im not wearing any glasses right now as i sit at the station waiting for my lady, just a beanie. Normally sun glasses for low in town driving. Crash helmet for anything over 30.
I always wore a full-face helmet, as I have had the cr*p scared out of me when a bumble bee hit my visor as I drove at 70mph, making a huge bang -
just think how bad it would have been without the helmet! I've also had gravel thrown up at me, small sticks, and so on.
Even with just goggles on I still had problems - one of the worst thing is dust from the back of a builder's lorry that's doing 60mph (the
lorry, not the dust 
).
I got fed up with wearing a helmet in the end, and fitted a windscreen... I found the helmet too hot in the summer, and your visibility is reduced by
a surprising amount.

Crash Helmet.... had someone wash their windscreen while i was doing 50 behind them... no helmet. Didnt taste very nice, luckily i didnt get it in my eyes!
Note the tax disc holder too.

full face for motorway runs, safety wrap around glasses for anything else - even down the lanes doing 20 mph the odd stone pings up so wont risk not
wearing any eye protection - BUT personally don't see the point of having an aeroscreen and then wearing a fullface helmet all the time.....
yep i've been sandlasted when following pals who have 888's, have had various insects /stones occasionally hit me in the face, as long as my
eyes are protected thats good enough for me.

I have a full screen now and just wear the dixons eye protection. Ballistic rated lenses and the sunglass mode is good to 70 MPH.
When I had the home bodged aeroscreen i used the elastic strap on the dixons, stopped them getting whipped off by the wind when looking over shoulder

Have to admit that I wear goggles all the time it isn't raining or cold. Risky and daft it may be but it looks and feels so much better. I have
used a helmet on the motorway but only for long journeys.
I use Davida Goggles which are fantastic, they look a bit like Oakleys and stay on at 110 (your face gets ripped off though!).

I wear sunglasses around town but switch to the helmet on the open road. I have an aeroscreen although it only stops the airflow from about mouth
level down so the eyes still need protection. At this time of year the flies along the hedgerow are horrendous so a helmet is essential in my opinion.
Having 500 squashed flies on your face just isn't cool!!!
