Ooh another breakfast run!
Must try and get out of bed on time.
If not there for the 07:00 at Devils Bridge I may well just head up to Hartside cafe, Google says 2 1/2 hours from home to get there the scenic
route.

Phew! Proper drive out that was.
For me it was off at 6.20am to meet the rest of the gang at Devils bridge (a nice group of 7 cars).
Cracking blat to Hartside cafe for a full breakfast, then off again over the tops at Alston and then all over the place (not a clue where apart from
Brough cos I just follow) and returning to Devils bridge.
Got home at 1.30pm and 250 miles on me clock and a grin on me face.
Cheers! to the leading drivers who knew where they were going and it was good to meet some new faces.
I need forty winks now
enjoyable run out this morning and we managed to avoid any rain, thanks to all who turned up for it and those who could'nt make it we'll see
you on the next one.

Twas good.
Me and Tommy added a few more lanes on over Bleasdale fell and down to Broughton on the way home. Must have done over 300 by the time I got home.

Sounds like I missed out on a crackin' run with being away
There's always next time tho'
Sorry I missed out, too busy knocking the ZZZ'ds out apparently...
Spent the day down the beach ( I say that loosely) erm coast anyway, with the dog and gathering rocks for the garden.
I really enjoyed the run and appreciate being able to tag along. I need to gain bigger balls to keep up at times but it does mean you do not see me
going up a banking when I miss the bend!!
I liked the idea of using sat-nav to foresee the bends, I may try that idea.
Sun run
Cheers
Adrian
whens the next one, sound like fun
I can't play out anymore til I've fixed my car.
It started when we were out on the Blat - If I held it at 4000rpm it started to sputter but would run fine before that rev band and after it too.
I spent all day cleaning the Delortos inside and out and just for good measure put some WD40 on the (don't know what you call it) electrical
connection on the end of the balance rod.
I did that because as it sputtered I noticed that the rev counter fluctuated like mad and almost dropped to zero occasionally.
Anyway this afternoon I went for a 30mile test drive and whoopee no more sputtering. I called in at t'hospital, saw me Mam and then went to Tesco
on the way home.
However, when I got back to it, the battery was flat. Good job theres a bit of a gradient on the car park, so I jump started it. It ran fine but the
rev counter wasn't moving (all the other instruments were working) and the indicators are week. Is it obvious that it's not charging and
could it just be the alternator, it's an Edge CM550 - 45amp (4years old).
Give me a spanner and I'm OK, show me a piece of wire and I'm S**te.
Any suggestions?
PS: Joe, I thought you said you couldn't get up that early in the morning.

It's the speed in the morning that keeps me awake!
Just watching from Paris with Love - Full Volume
tommy i would have thought that if the alternator wasnt working and the battery was flat you wouldnt have been able to bump start it and get home, sounds more like a wiring fault to me and weak indicators may be a bad earth. hope your in the garage now getting it sorted give me a ring if I can help. .m.
Cheers Mark
Just going to buy a battery charger - then I'll open the bonnet and stand there and scratch my head for a couple of hours.
I'll keep you posted.
have you got a multimeter to test if alternator is charging?

What a load of bullspit - there's no way he can still ride a pushbike, he's way to old...
Joe arrived in 28mins for the 6.2mile journey, sweating looking flush and going back in't ambulance.
Cars sorted, but we don't know what it was . think the battery was flat from mistakenly leaving the lights on.
at least joe will be happy knowing that although he nearly died cycling the 6.2 miles in almost tropical temperatures it was worth it to be able to
solve such a tricky problem.
p.s james's repairs going slowley i havent had chance to look at it this week.
.m.
The saga continues. Flat battery again - but good old Joe came to the rescue and gave us a jump start, mind you it cost me in buscuits
I'm suspecting a faulty battery cos on the way home the rev counter went haywire, all over the shop it was, then down to zero with no indicators,
but the other instruments were working.
I have got a distorted relay switch that feeds the rad fan. Its close to the heat from the exhaust, so I'm going to change that and move it
anyway (although it does work but could be sticking on).
The battery charger keeps switching on and off whilst charging on trickle or fast charge (terminals disconnected).
My money's on the battery, well it will be going on the battery if it is that (£92.90 inc post off flebay).
Odyssey PC625 or similar.
