GPS update
LBMEFM - 5/9/10 at 08:06 PM

Off to France next weekend so decided to update my Gamin sat nav. I could not believe the cost, any ideas on how to update cheaper, given the cost you just as well buy a new one. Its a bit like buying a printer where the replacement ink cartridges cost as much as a new printer.

I ended up buying a new satnav as it was the same price as a map update.

You can download the maps off torrent websites. But of course that would be for backup purposes only

I was going to get updates for a Garmin on a visit to the UK, but it was cheaper to by a new one at Curry's.

I'd be interested
Tried to update mine a while ago but the only site I found was unstable and downloads
kept stalling.

Hi, Garmin have a voluntary recall on some models at the moment for battery faults worth a look on their web site
