Something to watch out for on these freezing nights, I watched a lorry pull out of Dover docks tonight, as it turned a large sheet of ice possible two inches thick fell from the trailer onto the road. If it had hit a someone it could have seriously hurt/killed them. This is not the first time I have seen this, the round-a-bouts near here are littered with ice from trailers. Worth keeping an eye on when you are along side and they are turning.
That's quite scary - thanks for the heads up!
Worst thing I saw was a slab about 2 foot deep of snow falling off a trailer on the motorway onto a poor little hatchback behind it - just looked like
a white explosion.
Credit due, the hatchback didn't lose control, but it can't have been pleasant (and I imagine it left a dent or two!)
When out in the Fury the other day, ice was falling off an artic on the motorway, needless to say i floored it and shot past it as soon as it was safe
to do so.

I was once cycling to work on a frosty morning and caught up with an artic' at some lights and then slip-streamed him (quite easy when you know how). At about 35mph I heard a huge crashing noise behind me. I sat up quick, looked back and saw half a ton of ice in the road that must have gone strieght over my head. Good job I was tucked in close or it would've taken me out.
