Looking at the possibility of a road legal quad bike for commuting to work 10 miles each way.Anyone use one through winter.
For the occasional giggle, yes!
Commuting, no... particularly in winter. As expensive and impracticable as a motorbike.
SALT AND BIKES DONT GO
[Edited on 3/12/10 by thunderace]
They are extreamly thirsty, and arn't great on the road.
If you go for it don't be fooled getting an agri reg one as they are limited to 1.5miles (ish) but all I pay for is insurance (£215 3rd party)
and petrol
However I went out on mine today and it was great fun (took the dog for a run round our farm)
Also went perfectly in the snow even in RWD not 4x4.
Commuting on quad?? Surely you will have all of the disadvantages of a car and bike (a bit like a bike & sidecar)
You are exposed to the elements AND you can't filter through traffic.
