I know its not what these cars are all about, but just out of interest who has run their kit down the strip and what times have you achieved? Rough spec and power would be good too

These are the quarter mile times of a York Raceway drag day we did a few years ago, to give you some idea. Mixture of both BEC's and CEC's
and ALL seven style sportcars, so no aero advantage.

LOL
Let us know when you're ready to set off and we'll fire up the BBQ
I did 14.1 with a standard zetec, standard type9, i now have 50 more bhp, quaife box and LSD so i would hope for late 12's
Ed
12.85 with the Alfa V6 fitted but that was obviously too fast as it blew up half way down the next run but still managed 13.85!
When i first built the car i ran 11.7 at the pod at 118 mph, the car was running the stock 13b turbo with 320 bhp but the clutch was slipping with a
hard launch. I havent tested it again with the bigger turbo but i have a better clutch and another 80 hp with a higher ratio diff (3.77 instead of a
3.09) so hopefully low 11's is a possibility.
The most important part i suppose for drag racing is tyres, i was running R888's.
super charged busa in a dax rush 11 .6 last week at crail raceway
Im quite surprised the Zetec 'sevens' (I assume circa 150hp?) seem to be struggling to get into the 13s, I know its a different kettle of fish and not a kit but managed a 14.0892 in my redtopped nova, being a slightly more weight, similar power, FWD and just as unaerodynamic I expected to see them in the early to mid 13s with ease.
I managed a 13.5s 101mph run a while back with a 2.0 zetec and was having problems with grip .I am hoping to have another go this year and try to
get down to 13.0s with the better tyres that i have on it now.

Sounds more like it! Maybe they were drag virgins.. there is a definate knack to getting a good time, beit fwd or rwd.
Confirms CEC's are faster
Interesting stuff. Some good times by the BEC but as mentioned I would have expected better from the CEC's from my experience of running FWD
turbo 1/4 mile times.
Although Pauls mid 13 from a zetec is a good effort - about what I'd expect?
Chippy your time is excellent
As said though a lot is down to the technique and tyres which governs that all important 60ft time. I was never very good at launching my XR2 turbo
but always saw reasonable terminals (98mph).
