watch out for vans
R1_striker - 28/6/12 at 07:29 PM

just driving along today, came around a corner and theres a very large merc sprinter overtaking a tractor and trailer. i thought to my mistake, theyll brake and pull back in!!!! what i didnt see was the car they were also trying to go past. Wasnt a great bit of road even to go past a slow moving tractor, let alone a trailer and another car.

I can you that when your going head on towards a sprinter in a striker with all the brake locked its not a great feeling! the van did manage to swig over a bit so i managed to hit with my front wheel and not head on.

Needless to say my car not going to be around for a while!!! all that hard work to rebuild it and bust up after 700 miles. not a great day

gutted for ya mate make sure you get a good pay out and let a specialist do the work if theres chasis damage

Assume you're OK with no injuries?

Crushing right now, but the car will be fixed by fit and able body!

Dangle_kt - 28/6/12 at 08:06 PM

terrible news!

I hope the insurance payout will be adequate!

very sorry to hear this. hope you are unhurt.

country roads are getting very dangerous as they are populated by idiots.

Did the police get involved? sounds like dangerous driving to me, or as a minimum driving without due care.

Confused but excited. - 28/6/12 at 09:30 PM

Jesus mate, I bet that was a half a crown/sixpence moment.
Bloody idiot should be banned.
Glad you are OK.

w@nkers some drivers

dhutch - 29/6/12 at 07:46 AM

Thats not cool at all.

As said however, while I can say what the road looked like or the exact situation, It sounds as though it was clear the other party was at fault, and that the damage should be enough to write it off, so it should just be a case of finding a suitable professional to fix it for you on there insurance.

Good luck, glad your ok.

bit stiff this morning but no battle scars!!! hows that going to get me sympathy?!
I had some good witnesses who have helped alot, so the insurance people are moving very quickly. the van drivers insurance are treating me as if i was thier customer and he lady doing it sounds very nice. She said they dont have a leg to stand on, (i was close to having no legs to stand on!!! ouch). She also said as it was such a specialised car she wasnt saw how a pay out would work and that in my just need re-building to new. Which woud be ok

Being from hereford the car is already back at RAW. Insureance bloke is going out tuesday or wednesday.
