Volvo v70 D5

What's people's thoughts, who has owned them and potential weak points.

I want to move on my v40 which has been a cracking car as I need something without the boot lip, so now looking at v70's as the car if choice preferably an XC (cross country).

I,m not looking to spend a huge amount, maybe £5,000 and high mileage does not scare me or should it?

Is an XC worth the premium price?

I have an s60 d5 and it goes really well. Only on 80k with full history! Only downsides are auto gearbox which is l not the best and the dash electrics which is a common fault. It shows up an srs airbag fault and sometimes the writing goes scrambled in that area! Pm me for more info if you need as there is a place which sorts the issue for a relatively small fee. I've just left it as it's never bothered me at all

Plus points

Lovely straight body
Tidy interior
All works
Best ICE I have ever had in a car, pulp sounded awesome.

Bad points
Auto box feels a little harsh, an oil change should sort that out
Wallows, so needs new shocks really

Bought it as it's shiny and has the optional roof spoiler so no choice then.

I forgot to mention sound system. It's awesome in the s60 but not capable of making pulp sound good!
Gearbox flush uses around £200 of oil I think, but I think mine needs doing too!
