There's a down side too....

There's a down side to owning one of these cars too.
I thought today, being Christmas Eve and all, and with the BBC predicting a dry day in N. Ireland I'd chance bringing the wee car into work today. Got in this morning OK, dry and light traffic.
Just stuck my head outside there now (10am) and it is chucking it down in stare rods. And I have to drive 45 miles home at 12 midday. Oh God, I'm gonna be a drowned rat.

Happy Christmas y'all.

You might be drowned but I bet you get home faster than most!!!

Happy Christmas,
Rich.

If it keeps raining like it is now she's gonna fill up like a bath tub.

Hmm reminds me gotta get some soap from the toilets before geading off. I can have my annual wash while driving home - how's that for multitasking!!!

I see, you mean it doesn't have a cover on it!!!

Oh dear!

I always watch the weather for a week before organising a journey in the ST, and by the time the day comes it changes to rain
Due to work and other commitments i havent driven it for over a month
Hopefully one day will stay dry over the festive period, trouble is will i

Merry xmas

couple of years back 3 of us went too Mallory knowing it was gonna "P" down,

not fun on M1 stuck in traffic sat in a bath tub with kids in cars pointing and asking there parents "whats them wallys doing"

It was ok stuck under bridges though...

Well I'm home now - and it wasn't too bad! In fact I had a pretty good run. There was about 1/2 an inch of water in the footwells, but it had pretty much stopped raining by 12. I went through Glengormley, over the mountains to Nutts Corner, then took the wee road through Crumlin, into Lurgan, through Craigavon, Portadown then home. About 50 miles.
There were a lot of kids in cars pointing at the wally in the car. I just blip the throttle at 'em! Since I got that Frank Thomas Aqua motorcycle jacket warmth is no longer an issue. It's a great job.
Got home, gave the car a wee wash, put her away and had me dinner, and all's well with the world.
Happy Christmas everyone.
