Today I went out to my polythene locost tent and kicked some life into the little bugger for the first time this year.
It took a little coaxing and a jump start from the normal car.
Anyway, it was soon sitting ticking over on the driveway spitting and grunting wearing a sort of " go on you pussy - drive me !! " expression. Almost like the pepperami advert I suppose....
Anyway, casting all inhibition aside and attempting to put to the back of my mind the fact that I appear not to have a current MOT or tax disc for it ( cough cough), I took it for a short sprintette around the streets near my house. Just a few hundred yards to get the rust off the brakes. Nohing more your honour
Anyway - first impression, my God I had forgotten how quick the little sod was.
Second impression - I have Yokohama 21Rs on all round, and I have the dampers set nice and soft at the back.
There was no axle tramp whatsoever, but there was lots of wheelspin all the way through first and second gears - especially once the revs got up a bit.
Now, I'll be the first to admit that I was being a teeny bit heavy with the loud pedal - actually I was being a Gorilla with it, but surely a xflow shouldn't be capable of such feats ?
Or have I just happened across a monster motor.......

What spec is your crossflow?
Mine's a 1700 on 32/36 carb, 270 cam, the rest is pretty much standard, I get wheelspin in the first 2 gears almost all the way to 6000rpm and then a fair chirp in third (if my right foot desires).
These cars don't need that much power to be incredibly quick.

The engine is a 1640 - or is it 1660 ?
Can't quite remember...
Anyway, it's 1600 and a bit CCs, it has a big valve head, a moderately lumpy cam which I also can't quite remember the spec of and a set of firebreathing webers hanging off the side.
