Out in mine today,it narf get hot around the feet department,where can i mount the air conditioner compressor as room is a bit tight under the bonnet cheers Bruce from the dark side!

Insulating tunnel and bulkhead would be cheaper and easier?

I was wondering about insulating it. How have people done it?

Is it just a case of gluing/fixing some of the insulation that's currently in the donor Sierra footwell to the footwell area or does the insulation need to be sandwiched between the chassis metal and something else?
Any ideas?

To stop the heat coming through you would need some kinda insulating medium.

I recon some thick polystyrene, with some silver foil each side would be a good start. Possibly with alu or hardboard facing to stop yer feet denting it. I need all the clutch depression I can get on my car so I think that would foul my travel a bit.

Ive got size 9 feet and its a tight fit,it also gets very hot even in our weather i was thinking of air vents?

How about a couple of equipment fans (like what you get in a PC power supply) venting into the transmission tunnel??

I think you would probably let more heat into the footwell that way, I expect the gearbox tunnel would he a high pressure area (but I might be wrong). Some kind of heat wrap on the bulkhead side would be my first option. You would need a lot of airflow to do it with fans, especially if stuck in traffic.

John - I was joking! Although I agree that you'd need big fans to do the job if you did go that route.
