OMP Inter Classic Intercom ?
givemethebighammer - 22/5/06 at 06:54 PM

I saw one of these on someones MK at stoneleigh (think it may have been Hellfire ?)

The question is are they any good, I have the £4.99 intercom from Lidl and it's uncomfortable to wear. As well as this it is OK up to about 60mph but beyond that useless. I though that the OMP one being designed for rallying would be better ? (fair price too - rally design £49)

(not rally design link, I know)

Our's does have it and it's a superb product both in build quality and audible clarity. We have built our's into the helmet (which you have to do anyway) but I couldn't recommend the product enough. Rally Design seem to offer a great price and the service was/is flawless as usual.

thanks Steve it looks a good system, just a few questions

1. Audible up to what sort of speed ?
2. When you say you had to build them into the helmets do you mean just fixing the mic and speaker into the helmet lining with velcro or was it more complicated than that ?

thanks

1 - It's audible at any speed.
2 - Speakers fit next to ears in the lining of the helmet and mic requires a smallish hole, somewhere near the mouth. Not really complicated.

I have exacytly the same system as Hellfire and hae to add that it seems excellent, always clear and really handy on track especially.

sounds like a good buy. Think I'll order one. I'm never really sure how much I've scared my passengers (nods and hand gestures just don't convey the message very well!)

thanks

Used a few different ones in the past. OMP is certainly one of the best for the money. Terratrip are also good but head and shoulders are Peltor.
