What mpg do you get??
mad dad - 15/4/07 at 09:02 PM

As above and i know its not what we have the cars for but does anyone know what you could expect from a bec both on normal and track use??? i've got a 919 fireblade in mine and was told 30mpg was realistic for normal road use??? but without a fuel gauge have allowed nearer 20..................

bigrich - 15/4/07 at 09:08 PM

with restrained driving i could get 35mpg from my old 919 blade
25 was more usual and 15 or so on track

Hellfire - 15/4/07 at 09:21 PM

Our old 893 Blade engine regularly returned 28mpg (not including trackdays)

ZX12R engine regularly returns only 18mpg (not including trackdays)

... OUCH! 18MPG....

Then again, a tin-top with similar performace would probably struggle to get anywhere near that!

JoelP - 15/4/07 at 09:53 PM

my van only gets 22mpg

robertst - 15/4/07 at 09:57 PM

i dont even want to imagine what the pinto lump might consume

ReMan - 15/4/07 at 10:07 PM

893 'Blade, getting about 20-25 on the road

Pezza - 15/4/07 at 10:10 PM

with my old vulcan tuned xflow westy I got 10mpg if I was overly heavy with the right foot!

RazMan - 15/4/07 at 10:41 PM

30mpg so far, although I suspect it is running a little rich - not bad for a V6

I get 30 MPG in the summer and a bit less in the winter when driving my R1 BEC hard. On a recent trip to Wales, I managed 35 MPG.

TangoMan - 16/4/07 at 07:20 AM

I am getting around 35mpg with a heavy right foot. The Pinto used to get around 25.

I am sure I could get over 40 if I drove steadily, as the MS is set to run fairly lean at cruise speeds, but what would be the point.

I only get 38mpg out of my diesel 307 with a similar driving style so I can't complain. I can get this out to nearly 50 if I drive like my granny.

Good point, but my car is my daily driver - I had to sell the Beemer to pay for the final 'push' to SVA and painting

My tintop 1.5TD does around 65mpg. Its easy to achieve by just keeping the throttle out of the black smoke zone Running Macro's finest chip oil at 48p/litre it means I dont really worry about the se7ens low mpg

dilley - 17/4/07 at 07:33 PM

blackbird turbo,8mpg.

rjbrookes - 18/4/07 at 01:02 AM

at Mallory Park i went through about 70 litre and did 150 miles....thats a rough guess but i definatly did more that 50 litre!!!!

so 50 litres is 10/11 mpg!!!
and 70 litres is 7/8 mpg!!!

so basically a lot!!!!

but its good fun to fly past 911 gt3's , evos and rover coupes!!!!

edit thats a zx12 with a fat and i mean fat right foot!!!!!!

I saw about 37/38 mpg out of my R1 on a long journey
