Perhaps cut accross to the A45 it will take you to the Baginton island, do a left to baginton village and Stoneleigh is just round the corner,
Steve.

If you sneak through that way you can come out opposite the main entrance and miss the ques,

If you cut down to Daventry you can take the interesting back roads to Southam, and then up the A423 to Coventry.

End of A14 head towards M6.
Turn off towards Catthorpe
At cross roads turn right onto B5414 and follow until A426
Through Rugby and then down the A4071 towards A45
A45 to kamikaze island (well it was before they put the lights there!!)
Turn left then right onto Rowley Road
End of road turn left past airport then bear right.
Take right fork in road and then turn right at end.
At junction turn left onto Stoneleigh Road and the NEC is about 1 hour (about 1 mile in the queue ) on the right.

It's a longer route but quite a pleasant drive.

If your really up for it the A47 through to Nuneaton and then A444 onto A46 would be a great drive.

If your in a hurry I regulary use motorways in the seven and don't see a problem with it.

I've used the motorway and the a500 a c ouple of times in the past couple of weeks I've been on the road, and it just isn't really a big problem.

Helmet on and mirrors adjusted correctly and all is well - my trip to stoneleigh will be 60-70 miles on the m6 and then m42...

cheers,
Steve.
