After having delivered a flywheel for balancing to Jondel at Rushden, I realised that I was only about 12 miles from Bedford Autodrome so what an
opportunity to pop in and say hello to my old friends there. It is now five years since I stopped working there so I was very interested to see the
changes. It was amazing when I was there but now it it is even better. The circuits have been improved and extended, trackside hospitality moved to a
higher standard and of course the new range of cars, all absolutely sensational. Each year, JP manages to raise the bar to new levels.
Chris Dredge, my friend and ex-colleague drove me round to say hello to the Instructors (at the different circuits) that I knew from when I worked
there and then suggested that I drive a few laps in the 420 horse power XK8. The car is phenomenal with the traction control switched off and in sport
mode. For a big car it really does handle precicely and predictably and it gave me a grin from ear to ear. It was a real honour and totally
unexpected. My day was made.
I have made up my mind to definitely save up and have a day at Palmers, anyone else interested? Nothing else comes close to the value offered
there.
John
My lucky b*stad of a brother-in-law has had two corporate days there in the last five years a just raved for weeks and weeks about it - How painful is it nowadays for a privateer?...

I did ask what the current cost is and was told that a day is £700. This sounds a lot of money but believe me you get in that day, all the driving you
can cope with and at the end, you are absolutely wrung out. For most of us it would be a once in a lifetime experience.
Probably top secret but whilst i was there, i saw the possible next generation Corporate FPA car, a V6 Jaguar engined car with 300bhp. Imagine getting
in that as your first event at Palmers round the West Cicuit!!
All I can say about Bedford is, its flat.
Try Anglesey, it has gradient change, its fab.
£700, is Palmers missus thrown in?
is Palmers missus thrown in?
You could always ask!!
