Got are very first trackday tomorow at Elvinton air field. Pretty nerves, Furthest we have driven the car so far is about 500yrds down the road and back. Not even passed the SVA. just finished loading it onto the trailer and sorting all are tools ect.
fingers crossed for you!
Even if all you manage is an hour long shake down, its cheaper than breaking down cos of them on the way to the SVA!
Hope its much more fun than that though!!
Well we have being over every thing at least twice and anything that we havent being 100% on we have re-done or improved on. Touch wood it shal be fine. Haha, the First three laps you have to follow a safty car to get to know the track. It will be the furthest it has being, hope the safety car dont go too fast .
Make sure you have no leaks of any kind. When I was at CBS last year they told me of a chap who'd built a Foreman CanAm - finished, not
registered, just on a trackday for shakedown.
Oil went over exhaust manifold, rest is history.
Have a fun time, anyway

I'm sure you'll do better than me!...
My first ever drive of my Luego Velocity was at Cadwell...
The brakes weren't bled properly and I had a hairy sideways moment directly behind the safety car on the siting laps!
Wish you all the best, might even come along to watch.
Best regards
Kyle

I thought Elvington was a great venue. In fact, having done two airfield days this year they were both great. The difference in confidence on a high
speed corner when you have run off to play with is amazing. I hope you have a great day and the car behaves itself.
My only advice with your shiny car is to mind the stones. The surface is covered in small stones which take some clearing and end up just offline
everywhere. On the sighting laps I was hunched behind my tiny screen avoiding 70mph bullets being flicked up from the car in front!
Looking at your archive photos it appears to be a pretty meticulous build you've completed and a very clean and tidy car. I'm sure with
that kind of attention you'll sail through the day and have a great time once you've settled into it.
The first time I drove mine more than a few yards was straight out onto the M3/M27 to get to the SVA text. 3 lanes full of HGVs and mad commuters at
7am was more than a little daunting
Nice to meet you today Timex, nicely built car.
Had a really good day, driving my son's new purchase, 200+bhp Westy zetec. I was amazed how well it stuck to the track, 'cos I'd
always thought the suspension was a bit hard on this car. Certainly was a bumpy ride, but couldn't fault the roadholding, and brakes.
Here he is at the helm;
And a few more..
Twas a crackin' day!
What an amazing day. It was ace. so whens the next trackday????? Sighting laps were pretty scarry but that was nothing to the first fast laps. We started slow and just gradualy built the speed and once it had dride up, well that was it. Cant remember how many spins we had but im sure that it was more than half a dozen each. Feels so stange going backwars at about 60mph. Tha car was fine all day but just got a small list of todo`s. Fit a thermostat, just runs a tad bit too cool without. The laches on tha bonet could do with pulling a little tighter because when doing 110mph it just starts to lift in the midle. Fit a larger silencer, only just scraped through the DB test being a tad cheeky keeping revs as low as pos Over all very chuft.
Well done Timex
Pleased the car worked well, and that you are bitten by the trackday bug!
Cheers
Mike
