is top gear now just a joke with evrthing faked, what do you think.
It's just a load of blokes having a laugh.
Nothing wrong with that IMHO.
I would sugest 85% of factual TV is made up and/or 'Sensationalised' that includes the news !!
Top gear an hours worth of entertinment that I personal enjoy.

of course it is! but so is any sit com, or any other comedy program.
so what?! its funny! i've never laughed out loud so much at a top gear show before

Of course it is - just watch it and enjoy it for what it is I have to say I haven't laughed as much at anything on TV for quite a while as I did last week when they were driving the Peel round BBC TV Centre - completely staged but it was a work of minor comedic genius
Nearly all telly is scripted. Top gear is great.
Whilst I'm in no way an environmentalist, I did think they were taking the pizz wrecking their cars in a stunning part of the world.
I just hope someone cleared up the plastic, metal and glass they must have left everywhere.
And I thought Hammond deffo had the right car

And i suppose eastenders and coronation street is real life too. Top Gear is the best thing on telly, next best is the long way down.
its a funny show but it really annoys me how inept and incompetent they make themselves out to be.
What i cant work out is how hammond crossed the river at a fford and sank, but clarkson and cpt slow crossed at a random point and it was only a foot
deep?
It makes me laugh and is the only car show that my missus will watch and enjoy.
Thats good enough for me.
its about the only show i make a point of watching/tapeing
i have to say i hate it now, if they called it 'what a larf' then fine, but it use to be about cars and now seems too convieniant for my
liking.
It could be worse, it could have a 3 minute advert every 5 minutes.
I am getting sick of them trashing old cars for no good reason for a "laugh".
They acted like a load of chavs taking delight in smashing off a wing mirror with a hammer. Last nights programme really put me off them.
It's one of the very few shows on TV I bother watching... but the episode last night was disappointing.
They behaved like a bunch of hooligans, smashing up their cars and throwing bits of plastic onto a fire. And they showed zero respect for the people
who's country they were abusing, or the environment they were in.
Shame, because the concept was brilliant. If they'd carried it off with a little bit of respect and cultural sensitivity they'd have had an
amazing documentary. As it was, it was the sort of show you might expect to see on an US cable channel - not the BBC.
Kudos to Hamster's Opel though!
It's a light entertainment programme and it entertained me... So I guess it does what it is suppoed to! obviously things are setup but it would
be really boring if they weren't! imagine it...
" So, the director told us to pick a decent off road car and drive across Africa. we did and saw some animals n stuff, not a lot else happened...
Next week we'll be touring the roundabouts of basingstoke and asking if they are really better than a crossroads..."
I went to tha MPH (top gear live) show in London on saturday. 70 minutes of them arseing about live - very good, they even managed to make it seem
fresh even though they had done an identical show 3 times already that day and 4 more before that...
they asked the audience for a volunteer who missed TG last sunday and got them to drive the peel into a little parking space. then pointed out that it
had no reverse and only one door which was now up against a wall. They then told him that if he had watched the show he would have known that! they
left him sat in the car while they got on with show - Genius!
they did the football with cars thing and lots of stunt driving from their stunt team. but highlight of the show was a french motorcycle team who
drove round in a 'sphere of death'. they worked up to 4 bikes in there and I was holding my breath towards the end - utterly amazing!
The wife was more impressed by the fact that we were sat 4 seats from James Martin (saturday morning tv chef) and his truly stunning girlfriend

I enjoyed it - got it seried linked
cracking entertainment IMHO and I would love to have the opportunity to take part myself in some of their hair brained antics
Must say I prefer it when they split the show and do all the other stuff like Star in a car as well. But its still the best car show on telly, Look at
the other dross with Stiff needell and the other idiots.

Poll needs another option: It's all faked but it's bloody good entertainment anyway.
It makes me laugh out loud, not much on tv does that nowadays especially the comedy programmes which seem to be designed to make me cringe or wince.

Top Gear will always be one to watch but its not quite what it used to be but then again in other ways its better. I laugh more watching Top Gear than watching other proper comedies. I had started watching 5th gear a lot more till the series ended and think some of the actual car features are better even if Tiff pisses me right off
And Top of the Pops was all live. (I know some of them actually were, but rarely). Kind of predated the concept of music videos though.
The one where they put together the Cateringvan was odd - half of it was already put together, and how much help did they get for the rest? Too much
fakery puts me off.
As said above... i dont watch it for any factual value. i just watch it for the fun of a group of guys arseing about in cars
