Hi All.
It's time to plan the BBQ Car Meet again so you can all mark your calendars and diaries for Sunday 3rd July.
Same place and format as last year, i.e. BRING YOUR OWN burgers, sausages, drink or whatever,
and Gaz & I will fire up the barbies and supply the bread rolls, onions, sauces, etc.
Tea and coffee will also be on tap.
1 o'clock onwards.
Hopefully we will all need a liberal supply of sun tan lotion, and the date doesn't clash with other events.
As last year, not just kit cars, so hopefully a few "interesting" cars for you to look round.
ALL WELCOME
-------------------
If you haven't been to this meet before then U2U me for the post code. (Clare, Suffolk/Essex border)
Cheers,
Gaz and Paul G
Sounds like a plan!
Date now entered on calendar...
[Edited on 18/4/11 by David Jenkins]
Now that sounds like a good idea!
if its up near your house then im up for a visit in the kit. would love to explore those roads without the snow this time
Sounds good to me.
See you there, Paul....hopefully.
Hopefully see you there this year
Looking forward to it.
I hope it wont be quite as hot this year.
Just thought I'd give this another airing at the top.
I've sorted out my lunch for the day. (Now in the freezer)
I did an exhaust job for a Mustang. Payment in Texas steak.
Looking forward to seeing you all.
Cheers,
Gaz & Paul G
p.s.
You need a new avatar Gaz, to show your winter spray mods.
There will be a few of us from Essex if you'll have us

Sorry Ed.
It's impossible to pick a date and not clash with something.

Hi All.
Just a reminder that the BBQ meet is only a week away.
If you would like to join us then you are more than welcome.
If those that haven't posted on this thread, but U2U'd for the post code could post on here if they are coming
that would be a great help. It just helps to have some idea of numbers.
We are looking forward to a good old "chin wag" and hopefully meeting a few new Locosters.
All the best,
Paul & Gaz
Sorry, doesnt look like my car will be ready . I will be hoping for nice weather for you all though

Hello,
One of my rear wheel bearings has collapsed. I have a new one on order and assuming it arrives by the weekend and I can replace it in a day I'll
see you there.

The weather forecast looks very promising - especially considering the recent downpours!
The two of us expect to be there, as usual...
I think it's time to go shopping.
See you all tomorrow.

Wheel bearing done, see you all tomorrow afternoon.
Looking forward to it.

Hi Paul, sorry I won't be able to attend gsxr engine decided to throw a few bearing last weekend so in the process of sorting. Hope all goes well
and hope to see you soon
Regards sam
Afraid I cant make it , the car let me down last night at midnight on way home from town , managed to limp home but have just finished temporarily
rewiring the fuse box as one of the blade fuses had melted along with the socket it fitted in . I don't really want to risk a 160 mile return
trip until I Take the dash out to repair it correctly.
Paul
Thanks to Paul and family for organising yet another great afternoon , nice to see a few familiar faces again.
Seconded!
3rd'ed.
Thanks for a great PM with some cars.
Nick
Hi All,
Sorry to hear of the mechanical hicups that various people had. Part of owning a kit car I guess.
We had fewer numbers this year, but at least everyone was able to chat to everyone else.
Thanks to those that not only came in there cars, but also took people out for rides in them.
Judging by the big grins on their faces it was much appreciated.
Full marks to Steve Lovelock who managed to get from north London to within 400 meters of the house before
phoning for directions, and without sat nav as well. Well done, and nice to meet you and your good lady.
Thanks to all that contributed to a grand afternoon.
Paul & Gaz

I wonder what your good lady is thinking?
Perhaps, "O no, he likes it. Bang goes my new Yarris."

I found it fairly easy to get in and out of the Elise, although I did swing my big feet extra-wide to avoid marking the car on the way out. Mind you
- the roof wasn't fitted...
It would have been funnier if there were pictures of me getting in and out of Gaz's Caterham - my, those things are snug!
We had a fabulous afternoon, thank you very much.
