my 3.54 is about right for the 5vy r1 engine and was also right for the carbed blade engine. not sure about the newer blades but from when i looked into it the busa or zx10 are no good with a live axle.

My furys on a 3.54 diff and is ok but it previously on 3.89 and was way to revvy on a run

As above - Carb'd Blades and R1s are about all you can use with a 3.54 ratio.

is it possible to fit a higher geared ratio to a live axle diff? around 3.3;1 or 3.2;1

I run a Triumph Dolomite 1850 auto axle in my carbed blade which i think is good and is 3.27:1.

do you run the complete back axle or just the diff and modded halfshafts? im lookin at an lsd if possible? cheers guys

tony.g - 2/2/13 at 11:10 PM

Complete axle.
Not sure you'll get a lsd easilly.

daniel mason - 2/2/13 at 11:16 PM

no.but a fair amount of the ford axles have lsds in the kits. was wondering if a different ratio could be fiotted to the ford axle?

watsonpj - 2/2/13 at 11:35 PM

The ital axle was fitted in the caterham for a while that was available as a 3.27 and you can also get a lsd i believe.

You need to hunt down a Capri axle, 3ltr has a nice low ratio, 2.8i special (the later ones) had LSD although both a bit rare now and a couple of inches wider than an escort.

I also run a 3.54 in my F27, with a carbed blade. Would be nice to have a bit more top end, as I'm maxed out at 120ish.

If its the Atlas axle you are talking about its also a lot heaver than the English axle. I'm not sure what ratio is in my atlas but I would like something a bit longer. I have been thinking about dedion and a free lander diffs and sera shafts, as I would also like a wider rear tack.

Does any one know how wide the Ford Sierra rear track is?
