Im trying to decide what to do next
So far i have on a bench a 3.5 rv8 in bits.......
2of....... T3 60 Garret turbos , so i hope to get 350 bhp from th Rv8...... and
a UN1 gearbox - transaxle
I want to build a true 60's--- style race car with a 2000;s twist, hence the twin turbos
Im happy to build a space frame, so that excludes a ford gt - Gt40
The question is...What do i build.
PS I have fallen in love with the Lola T70, But its hard to get info on this.
Fred W B has that type of car - not sure what exactly
There's an old (1960s) Jaguar factory race car... they only made a couple of them, but it was drop-dead gorgous. See if you can find out anything about that one. It was a mid-engine V12, but a twin-turbo V8 would substitute admirably!
lola are making the t70 again so i'm told........ask them for a brochure

If you don't want a roof then the big CAN-AM cars from the late 60's (just about all of them) look great.
If you're going to go to the effort of building the thing though and aren't desperate to make a copy of something existing, just a little
bit more effort will get you an original. My design (still not properly finished) is a mish mash of at least 6 different cars I've swiped bits
from for example.
If you go this way you don't have to put up with people telling you what bits you did 'wrong' etc.

Well thats me convinced then, not that it would take much, A t70 its going to be then.
What was the process behind the chassis design. Have you somthing to copy from or some drawings, Or is it all your own?
I will be off to the UK national kit car show soon, so i will take my camera with me. Hopefully the GD boys could provide me with some info...
Do you think they might get a bit "funny" if i take a tape measure and a protractor as well?

I designed the chassis myself from first principles, I.E.
Study the gospel according to Staniforth (Race and rally car source book) and everything else you can find.
Look at lots of cars.
Mock up main parts on build table.
Sort ergonomics
Design suspension.

I was a long way down the road before I decided on a Lola look body.
Hint - the wheelbase is 2400 or 2413 mm, depending where you look

That does look very nice. Only bit I'm not too sure on is the mirrors, did you sturggle to find an idea that flowed like the rest? I do appreciate that mirrors are probably one of the hardest external bits to add on without lookin silly.
