Silver Frog mid-engine Buggy

in one of my sketches, there was a comment the "Silver Frog" in reference to a Porsche 550 speedster design....

So here is a mid-engine dune buggy called the Silver frog...

That looks really interesting, does anybody have a link to the manufacturer?, I would like to find more info on that buggy....it does look similar

I'm sure Bruce Meyers from Manx fame. and originator of the dune buggy shape, would be interested in knowing....

I believe the D means a design patent.
It's here - my tiff viewer doesn't handle it very well, but hopefully it helps (design patents are pretty useless to be honest, but make lawyers rich).

Thanks....I did search for it out of curiosity........maybe I should patent my sketches too....

I wish I were in a position to turn some of your designs into reality. Maybe someday?

It's not the same as the Dena obviously.

I saw the Dena in person at the Knott's Berry Kit Car show in April and it's really neat. It does not evoke the Manx to me at all. Maybe just in the fact that it uses an aircooled VW engine and pan...

I am not sure what benefit a design patent has for a small manufacturer except a marketing bullet point.

I agree on the marketing bullet point, because for the rest, I think it's useless, unless you have so much money to go to court over design infringement, every time a copy comes around......

Yes the Dena doesn't look like the Manx, but it does look like a buggy derivative........, and who knows if the buggy design shape was ever copyrighted by Meyers?, I really don't know ......
