What is the std Sierra rack ratio?
what ratio have people found works best on a road / occasional track car? 2.4?

I THINK ITS 2.4
2.4 is the very quick one, 2.9 may be standard but im not sure, could be more as standard - im sure some people count the 2.9 as a quick rack.
The standard Escort rack is around 3.5, which is too slow for a sevenesque car. I have a 2.4 rack which is great for driving, but can be tiring on a
long journey especially if, like me, you've got a smallish steering wheel.
A good compromise seems to be the 2.9 - but I'm not sure if you can get that in a Sierra rack.

I found the 2.4 rack a little too quick for me - hard work on motorway cruising. I changed it for a 2.9 which was perfect.
Mind you there are some people who like even quicker racks ..... even just 1 turn
4.25 turns lock to lock standard
try www.rallydesign.co.uk sierra quick rack 2.8 ratio
quik rack in mine , need it for opposite lock .
4.25 std - by heck thats a lot!!
2.9 is quite a bit faster then.
Am i right in assuming it will be quite a quick change over? Any special tools needed?
no special tools provided both racks are the same (ie unmodified!) A balljoint seperator could be handy but not needed (hammer )
2.4 is fine in mine
I have just binned the conventional 4.5 turn rack, for a 2.5 lock to lock rack. I drove mine to Oulton Park last saturday, and did a trackday. No problem on motorway, and exceptional on the circuit.:
someone else in leeds
my own philosophy is as quick as possible.
Where did you get the rack from vyperstrype?? Do you mind me asking how much it cost?
Does the 'quiker' rack have any effect on the weight of the steering?
