Basically what do I need

Jigsaw? any recomendations?
Rivit gun?

what else.
haveing some tresels welded to support the car

Or a car?

If its a car then you will not have much call for a jigsaw, it will see comparitively little use compare to tools like

welder (optional depending upon build type)

rulers

sharp knife

Air compressor + air tools
Telescopic magnet for retreving those dropped washers etc
A good deburring tool
Heavy duty vice
Plus all the afore mentioned bits and pieces .

Minimum list I can think of:

Socket set
Spanners
Screwdrivers
Crimping tool
Wire stripping tool
Hacksaw (large)
Multimeter
Persuaders of various sizes (small hammer, rubber hammer, f'ing big hammer)
Allen key set
A nice big file (for filing glassfibre not storing paper )
£250 for the bits to make the car
Hand rivet gun
Mains powered drill
Lots of drill bits (esp those for the rivet size you are using)
Tin snips
Loads of time
Patient significant other / divorce papers

A rivnut tool.

I would say essential.

Some have made there own type of tool, I think I saw it on Hellfire's site ?

As above but I'd have struggled at various stages without an impact driver (and a big hammer to crack it with) and a tap and die set.

Oh and a wooden/rubber mallet unless someone already said that?

Edit - Oh yeah and a brake pipe flaring kit for when you drop something on the existing pipe like I've done twice now!!

what are the most common sizes bought a nice teng 1/2 rachet for my satellite installation business and I only use 13mm sockets but what others do I need to get to cover me.

10mm to 32mm is the common set and you'll use most of them on a build. Individual sockets work out expensive. You'll need a breaker bar and a Sierra drive shaft nut socket but you may be able to borrow that.
