Where to buy Automotive Colour Coded Wire

I Need some colour coded wire to build a proper Vems Ecu Engine Loom. ( rather than my test jumble of wires )

I can get Standard single colour from maplin, but where can I get wire with a tracer colour in. I probaly 4 to 8 different colours around 2 to 4 meters in length
any ideas ?

Had a search on here and Flebay but struggling.

These guys make Westfields looms (or at least their name is on the loom drawing) and the wires they use are the proper style as you want.

Does anyone have something that show the BS colours used for car wiring?

I don't know what gauge wire you need, but if it's a modest length of coloured cable, have you considered a length of trailer cable from your local Halfrauds.

Should get 6 or 7 different colours in a 4 m length off the shelf? Might be a bit heavy duty though?

That’s an idea. I did the buggies wiring in just one colour, red.

Not a good idea really, as you'd imagine it's rather difficult to work on it...

Trailer 7 core is ideal for wiring the whole rear of the car. For the rest, go to a show and buy a loom from a mondeo or similar for a fiver - gives you everything you need (usually).

Sound like the v8 buggy I used to work on but we must have been high tec

Re the wiring ordered some lengths of coded wire from autosparks .

I cut and shut my v8 EFI loom. If I am going to the trouble of building my own loom I need to stand a chance of sorting it out as I will no doupt get somting wrong in the process.

Yet another vote for VWP.

I don't think there are any BS for the colour codes but old Lucas colour codes are available online. It won't cover everything you need but I followed it as closely as possible.
