Any idea of an approximate cost to ship a pair of 13 inch wheels and tyres from mainland Welsh address to mainland England address?

Any recommendations on the courier to use?

Just make sure you cover them with something - even bin bags or thick cling film.

I've had couriers refuse to take wheels (with tyres on) if any tyre showing through - no refund Had to get them covered up properly then book (and pay) again.

Make sure you put them on a piece of wood to protect the bottom one and a 'this way up' sticker - I sent a set to be powder coated and the muppet courier turned one pair upside down and dragged them across the chequerplate floor of his van and really messed up the spokes.

Or put them spoke to spoke and put a disc of thick cardboard between the spokes. Or thick discs of cardboard on the outside as well.

Try parcelmonkey.co.uk I've found them very good for big stuff

I've used a courier from South Wales quite a few times recently - Colin (can't remember his surname) - 07939098804. He used to do a bit of rallying so understands how to look after car bits! And he's very reliable with fair prices. If you contact him tell him Wyn from Cynheidre (Kin-high-dru) gave you the number.

You could try www.anyvan.co.uk - works like an auction site where you post details of the package, etc, and delivery companies place a bid to do the delivery.
