Hi just a quick question What is the best stuff to use to take the sticky residue of the side of a van after the vinyl sign writing has been removed? I used paint brush cleaner to get some off my fibreglass body work but this will obviously remove the paint from the van so is not suitable. I did use polish / tcut once to remove pin stripes but it took a long time. So any other ideas? Im hoping that if I heat up the vinyl with a hair dryer before removing it there won’t be to much left on there but im shore some sticky will stubborn.
Gelsol from autosmart is what we used to use when we de-lettered our vehicles.
Also usefull is a starbrite distributed product called tar and glue remover. (www.starbrite.co.uk) go to car and automotive, then cleaners (exterior)
and its the last one on the page,
Both good in my experience.

WD 40? or apparently you could try baby oil..
WD 40 worked for me on adhesive from masking tape..

I've successfully used isopropyl alcohol for the job. There's been a thread about this before:

Try acetone .£1.00 from any chemist. Izzy
acetone will remove the pant as well?
try methylated spirit
autoglym tar spot remover worked for me, but it's not cheap
Thats ok its the boss paying for it so it dusnt have to be locost
Ive used panel wipe before. Try a test area first.
I use cellulose thinners or acetone, it won't remove hardened paint only fresh stuff.
Try white spirit or meths
White spirit or just go to your local sign writing place and ask them. They should do it for free
