Test driving....BEC... but building a zetec
After backing out close to the time that i was going to put an order down on a Striker..... i was pointed in the direction of MNR (due to the size of
the striker which i have driven) and have been very impressed with the prices and good things that have been said on here about MNR which is why im
interested.
Anyway the only car that they have up there for me to potentially test is a R1 engined one and im building a 2.0 Zetec.... secondly they require me to
have insurance of my own to do so. So ... is there any point in me trying to get insurance for this being 2 totally different engines am i still going
to get an idea of how a CEC car will handle or is there no point?
I still need to find one too see how i sit in it etc and would rather speak to them in person rather than over email.
Cheers
John
EDIT: I'm 6ft 2/3 14 stone size 12 feet, and not trying to start an engine war

I have owned a Striker with ZX9R engine in the past and now have an MNR with zetec...
Me being close to 6' I prefer the MNR. the Striker was really small but did handle really well.
I prefer the MNR now as a more advanced car as it's much bigger and more like driving 'in' the car as opposed to the Striker which
felt like 'on' the car due to its size..
Horses for courses of course... if your built like a jockey the Striker may just be the one, but if your bigger.. well...

I'd love to try both but when i mention a test drive and tell them my age (20) they seem to run off and lock them selfs in a small room.

have you been in a BEC before or a CEC for that matter?
Have you got anything to compare it to?
Last thing you want to do is test drive a BEC and get bitten by the bug.
It happened to me.
i bought a part built locost with 2.0 zetec on bike carbs, bogg bro this that that - real top bit of kit.
Then I got offered a test drive in Steve's blade powered BEC.
I then ripped the zetec out and the BEC is nearly done.
It'll be naff to be disappointed with your car when its done.
