I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP CHOOSING
Morning all,
right its down to 2 cars, i have found
1)Fabia vRS, 32,000 miles, don't no about owners, usual gubbins, unmodified, 06 plate, but is a dealer car, insurance grp 9
advertised for £6495
2)SEAT Leon FR 150 diesel, 40000 miles, 2 male owners from new, again usual gubbins unmodified, in RED. 05 plate, ins grp 13!
offer considered at £7000 but wants £100 deposit and last interest was a time waster!
i want to most economical car, which in my eyes is the sloka, and im trying to justify with size of the Leon and do i actually need a bigger car as
there will only be me in it most of the time commuting.

i have heard good things about about the leons regarding pace, power and economy. i also prefer the look of the leon but once again its down to money.
its more expensive and dearer to insure but is probably the one i would go for if i had a spare 7k! am sure someone on here bought a yellow one not
too long back but cant remember who it was. possibly flack?

fabia would be my choice of the two based purely on economy and overall value.
...pretty high funkiness index too
for interest also check...

But dont let the dealer panic you - the world is full of second hand cars.

Im not voting on either as i dont like red cars
Might be worth trying some other insurance companies as the fabia, leaon and the golf are essentially the same car.
Remember also that some companies will increase the premium because you have had an accident (even if it is not your fault) so that could account for
some of the increase.
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

Jeezo you must be a young whippersnapper or a high risk(something you're not telling us EH.
The leon is a fair bit of kit BUT so should the fabia be as well.
Given the insurance quotes if I were you I'd go for a Trabant
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

Ooh, expensive!!
If your current car is safe and reliable then why not keep that a bit longer?
(At least until your safely through the probationary period on your new job perhaps.)

have you taken any for a test drive surely you would know straight away which you want. dont rule out any other cars too. when i was looking for a new
car i went to a place that has all different makes and models and was suprised at how many nice cars there was in my price range that i never even
thought about.

The Octavia is the Skoda Golf equivalent. Fabia is based on the Polo platform afaik, not that it makes much difference in the grand scheme of
things.
05/06 Mondeo's (TDCi or petrol) and Vectra's are much cheaper than that even from a main dealer and don't scare the insurance
companies nearly as much as a hot hatch.
p.s. The 'three customers coming today' ranks along with 'this deal is for today only' as the two things taught on day one of
the car salesman introduction course. I suspect the car may be there next week - and if it isn't they will have another one very similar,
it's not like they have more customers than cars even in the best of times.
