So if I get fined for my crime of doing 36 in a 30, I will now have to pay for a crime I didnt commit.
Why cant the perpetrators pay. What a pile of s**t and injustice and another nannying tactic to go soft on real crims.

common sense has gone out of the window.
lucky for the government there are so many people in the UK dependent on their ability to drive. these fines, combined with the expected 15 p/l rise
in fuel costs at the pumps should net them a couple of quid.
watch this space for more, it'll be a new tax on vulcanised rubber next.
I smoke, i drink and i drive. without the likes of me, the government would be even more broke than they are now. So why am i made to feel like the
villain for doing these things.
how about a big thanks from the powers that be? we elected you, we pay for you and your rediculous expense claims and we will probably sack you very
soon because of how inept you are. maybe the other side will learn from this and stop biting the hands that feed? I know where my X is going to go
next time

The £15 "victim surcharge" has been going on for years now.
Get caught speeding and the courts take an extra £15 off you to go towards battered women or other victims of violence.
Actually hit a woman and the courts will slap your wrist and let you go....

You can bet any subsequent governments of a different political party, will not scrap it either!
Its a source of income to the gov't.
Just another stealth tax.

An Obituary printed in the London Times.........
Interesting and sadly, rather true!!
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who
has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was,
since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He
will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
Knowing when to come in out of the rain; Why the early bird gets the
worm; Life isn't always fair; and maybe it was my fault.
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend
more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children,
are in charge).
His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but
overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy
charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended
from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for
reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.
Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the
job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly
children.
It declined even further when schools were required to get parental
consent to administer sun lotion or an Aspirin to a student; but could
not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an
abortion..
Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses;
and criminals received better treatment than their victims.
Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a
burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.
Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to
realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in
her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.
Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by
his wife, Discretion, by his daughter, Responsibility, and by his son,
Reason...
He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers;

I Want It Now
Someone Else Is To Blame
I'm A Victim
Not many attended his funeral because so few realised he was gone.

The basic problem is that stuff has got to be paid for. This is a tax added to 'wrongdoers' which is at least partly well directed. The
article quoted stated...drunkenness, criminal damage or shoplifting rap could then cost £95 instead of £80.... which personally I don't mind in
the slightest.
When it is added to 'victimless' crimes it becomes more unnaceptable, and when the money recouped is directed to a totally diferent victim
group it all seems illogical. Just think of it as tax and leave it at that.

absolutely true....but wouldn't it be nice if they just gave us a flat tax rate and cut all of the red-tape & BS that is in place now.
Work out how much the country needs, work out how much gets earned in the UK, divide the two and we have a UK tax rate - those who earn lots pay lost,
those who don't earn much don't pay much.... or am I being too simple?

Why don't they just seize the criminals assets? 
The NHS is allowed £3.00 per day to feed a patient.
The Prison Service is allowed £12.00 per day to feed a prisoner.
Notice anything wrong here?

In my naivety, I alway thought that justice meant that you paid for the crime that you personally had commited, NOT for anybody elses!

You pay for your crime ( cuase your easilly caught traced through your No Plate) and as yout working you've no time to go to court so you roll
over and pay.
this makes the system and police force statistics look good because 99 times from 100 they get a positive result ( so in effect the system works well
and does not need changing).
If you are a rapist/robber/mugger etc and get caught then it's a long drawn out expensive process and as you are most likely a lazy effing dole
scrounging prick then it cost the country money. So in effect that system does not work and needs to be subsidised.
Who are the mugs now??
If every speeding fine was contested in court the system would be gridlocked. So give the police more powers and take away the chance to appeal and
it's problem solved. ( we are already quite away down this road)
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

You do realise this has come from The Sun, which is only called a newspaper because it's the same size as the rest of them.
Would help if there was some kind of victim support, I never had any. I only wanted £40 for the window they broke the £200 radio I was
"happy" to replace out of my own pocket.
Also for Skinned Knuckles, who's we? I never voted them in, I should have the right not to recognise a government I didn't want in charge
especially as I had the right to choose.
