First very short drive

Got my re-build project out of the garage yesterday just because I couldn't wait any longer! The drive is only long enough to get into 2nd gear though. Even this short hop threw up some more jobs on the snagging list.
Brakes need bleeding again, rev counter reads double (probably due to elec ign..) both fuel and temp gauge badly over read, does anyone know if voltage stabiliser reduces voltage too.( I'm using Spitfire clocks.)Seem to recall these were 5v on old BL stuff??
The biggest concern though is the lack of lock. It has the turning circle of a super tanker. Other than changing to a rack from the steering box I have now I'll have to live with it..
Other than that ... great!

If they are anything like the mini smiths gauges then yes you do need a regulator, it also has to be sat in a particular position. I had the same problems when I fitted auxillary gauges from a Mini to my Austin A35

You can correct the lack of turning circle with a good touch of throttle and oposite lock

Feels good to have a drive doesnt it. Im fed up with mine being tucked away and me not having time enthusiasm to finish the bits ive started.

not meaning to steal the thread but it suprised me the turning circle in my striker.not sure if its cause of sittin on the back axle and just seems bad or maybe cause i'm used to the imp and 200sx which are both on par with a black cab, but i always cock up swinging into spaces in the striker!quickrack mk2 escort unmodified rack on mine.
