Just in case he doesn't see this thread, send a U2U to BBWales on here...

His name's Bob, lives in Wales (although the north, goes touring in this country and Europe) and is a thoroughly decent chap!!

FROM BOB HIMSELF

Hi,

I am planning next years European tour and thought I would let you know as you expressed an intrest this year.

The planned route is:
Meet at Dover, cross to Dunkerque, from there to Luxamburg stop for 1 night, then travel to Rudesheim stop 2 nights from there through the black forest and find a nice place to stay for 1 night, from there to Munich for 3 nights, onto vienna or close for 1 night, into Slovakia for 1 night then ont0o Auschwitz for 1 night, onto Berlin for 2 nights, then Hartz mountains for 1/2 nights then onto Hamburg and make our way back by the coast.

Intend to keep off motorways as much as possible and the drives will be a max of 200 miles.

So far have 3 trikes, 1 Landrover and 2 7's a right mixed bag.

Looking at the first 3 weeks of August.

Regards

Bob

IIRC, there is an awesome white road (all metalled) that runs from Lampeter through Abergwesyn to Beulah...used to have a run over it when I was a bit younger (and braver)....

Thinking about it, kind of like to do it again one day!

Rich.

The A44 from Aberystwyth to Llangurig is a great road. Lots of fun.
The road over the Preseli Mountains from Aberystwyth to Haverfordwest is also very good.
Plenty of good camping around this area too.

I live in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and I would say you'd be missing out if you didn't at least pass through, and call in for for a cuppa of course

If you find yourself going around Anglesey. Give me a shout. The coast road around the island is a really nice run and I live about 200 yds off it.

Hi All,

Thanks Steve for you kind words and you too Pat for advertising the planned trip next year.

I am planning a weekend touring North Wales and it should be in April.

But the good roads that I have driven are

Dolgellau to Barmouth
B4410 Tan Y Bwlch to A4085 and then onto Beddgelert
Beddgelert to Capel Curig A498
Off A5 on B4407 Ysbyty Ifan to Ffestiniog.
A542 LLangollen to Ruthin (known as Hoseshoe pass)
A494 A5 to Bala
B4391 from Bala to A490
A4086 To Caernafon (Llanberis pass) worth a drive.

All these are good roads in my opinion.

Regards

Bob
