Wet and snowy Bylton Park (Westfield)

Hello all,

Here's a video from Sunday at Blyton Park. Weather forecast was good all day, but typically it was wrong!

'Timeline':

First minute or so: Going sideways

1:12 onwards: Some nearly dry laps, but tyres refused to get any heat in them.

6:05 onwards: Gradually wetter conditions, snow at the end.

12:07 onwards: Chap from MX5 Nutz forum in the passenger seat, I managed to drive through a huge puddle and soak him Sound is useless on this clip cos the mic was getting soaked so I had to take it out of the car!

Cheers,
Adam

PS: Motorbike 'dry suit' with side zip and latex gloves under my normal gloves saved the day, highly recommended!

Thanks! Haha, yeah that was quite funny. Completely un-intentional, but he saw the funny side luckily

Thanks mate - haven't driven it in the rain before so was good to get stuck in!

Ah - thank you. I must say I usually do the same, so I appreciate it.

The mic is a Zoom H1 (http://www.studiospares.com/zoom-h1-silver-portable-recorder/invt/361325?source=215_74&gclid=CLOC1oOCi7YCFc3HtAodXlEAFQ) which I mount under the dash, and it has a foam wind noise reducer shoved on the end (you can probably see it in the 'dry' vids, on the tunnel top by the datalogger). I put it there so it's out of the wind and rain.

The only 'problem' is that you have to sync the video and audio in editing software afterwards, but I think the extra effort is worth the result. Obviously plugging an external mic into the GoPro would mean a hole in the housing which wouldn't be ideal for the conditions in the vid!

Cheers,
Adam
