DRIVING EVENT - CUMBRIA
Just a toe in the water really.
I live in Cumbria and compete in, and organise navigational road rallies, so my knowledge of Cumbrian and Northern roads is reasonably good.
Currently looking to build a Mk or MAC1 kit in very near future - building stock of items required at the mo.
To my point - I would gladly organise a "run", "event" or whatever you'd like to call it taking in some of the more
desirable northern roads (suitable for low slung 7 types).
A start and finish point somewhere close to the M6 for easy start/finish location/departures and as I say taking in some lovely roads, views and stops
for refreshments along the way.
If anyone is interested, please let me know the type of things you'd like and either use this thread or a U2U (whatever that is?) and
I'll build up a picture of requirements assuming anyone is interested.
Time of year??? You decide.
Could be a Xmas/ New Year do (weather permiting) or Spring time.
The decisions are yours - I'll do the background graft if things/numbers make it feasable.
Regards,
Romer

I'd be interested.
I'd suggest a circular route which would allow people to meet up at various points. That way if you start early in Kendal, work up to Carlisle
and back down, those from Lancashire could meet at the start and those from the North East, Scotland could meet up later on. Breaks the day up a bit
and new faces etc.
Also I'd suggest a start point near a Petrol Station, regular catch up points and a good pub for lunch.
Cheers Mike

Id also be interested but have to complete SVA etc yet. Im aiming to be on road by Christmas (Mike - SVA application was sent off today - fingernails
are suffering already!).
I like the idea of circular route. M6 lakes area, Northumberland, Toon, across A66 area / north yorks etc (i dont know if this a bit long or not).
Im not experienced atdriving these cars so a leasurely trip would be my preference rather than a spiritted time trial.

Thanks for the comments - could do with some more input from others though - make things more worthwhile when there's sufficient numbers.

Being completely selfish i would say Spring as i cant guarantee being on the road before xmas (although i will move hell and high water to do it!). Im
also not a good spiritted driver so looking forward to some practice before hand.
Ive never been on one of these before so cant recommend any good ideas other than meeting up at a nice place at lunch time for good nosh and a pint
(of shandy of course!).
One idea could be to converge at a track but this changes the idea of the meet.

Looks like sometime in spring it is then - looking forward to seeing (and hearing) all those superbly built cars
Keep adding your names or sending me U2U's - what do you all recon - minimum 10 cars to make it sociable enough ????
Kit cars only allowed, any make etc etc.
Keep those comments coming as I will periodically keep checking this thread for names & ideas etc.

Only just seen this thread. I'd be up for it - especially if there was a navigational element to keep the missus happy! She's a demon with
the maps...a born navigator.
