Rearwheel drive,

well Rear wheel drive now adays are transit vans, Mercedes Bensz (allot of them) and offcrouse the beamers.

also rc cars have RWD. (i used to play with that to!)

My expierence isn´t very much, in fact i managed to do a 180degrees on a normal city road with dads omega (2.5TD AT (kickdown).

But it wasn´t like doing it again..
in fact i only could drive home at 10mph

mum didn´t see the damage but after a short try....

anyway it was just a moment you feel king of the road..when infact you just are novice..

i knew it would spin the rearwheels but not when locking the abs that it would turn arround completely!

RWD is deff more difficult

For example in the snow!!

With your FWD car, you just loose the pedal, the grip returns and you can take the corner, spinningup the rearwheels
with rwd loosen it and then taking the corner won´t work very well.
in fact if you have speed your back will overtake you..

TKs

My first car was a vw beetle - if you put some weight in the front luggage are (sand bag or two) it handled really nicely. Well within reason! The most fun you can have at really slow speeds is a beetle in the snow on a deserted carpark (again with a few obvious exceptions!!!)

again, I'm probably an exception rather than a rule, but I'm 24 and most of my driving has been rwd.

70,000 miles plus in a VW Type 25 Caravelle (the last rear engined ones). Sadly now sounding like the big ends are going.

My dad's had two 3-series BMW's as company cars and I've driven a fair way in both, as well as done plenty of donuts in snowy car parks. In between he had a (fwd) Saab 9-5 Aero - 250bhp through the front wheels is, erm interesting.

Uni minibuses (rwd), people carriers (fwd), and various other random cars (mostly fwd).

And eventually, I'll have a rwd seven! Till then its the gf's golf.

its right to say that most yoofs only get to drive FWD cars but if they are interested enough to be building a seven then they should remember to make allowences.

i worked through uni as a white van drive (i'm expecting to be flamed to death for that) and the amount of fun that you can have in an empty van on country roads in the wet or occasionly snow tought me loads about how to handle RWD!
i recomend it to all gear head kids! (plus somebody else pays for your diesel, tyres and if your a shocking driver they insuance bill!)

Rich, your avatar man's got a very scary barnet, is that from an ad in your local barbers window?
My first car was a Skoda Estelle, as with the beetle great with some weight in the front and fun on wet roundabouts & snow
