She's road legal!!
Went to DVLA in wimbledon with a reciept for my chassis steel as they wanted proof that it was new before issuing an age related plate.
I thought it would be another weeks wait for my reg, but harsha said come back in half an hour and it will all be ready.
I nearly fell over!
I got my tax and a V928 with my reg number so that I could buy my plates.
One hour later I am driving legally all around Croydon and Mitcham.
People were taking photos on their phones and people kept trying to talk to me while I was driving. Problem was I had my crash helmet on so I could
n't hear a word!
One bloke stood in the middle of Mitcham one way and tried to ask me questions. I told him to get out of the way before he got killed!
On the positive side, it is surprising how courteous drivers become when I try to get out of turnings. All of a sudden, they are not in any rush !

When are you going to publish 'Build your own F1 for less than £10,000,000'

Is it the photo or does it looked squashed?

I'm amazed people notice it, it's such a shy and retiring shape and colour after all.
Well done on getting it on the road.

Cheers Guys!!!!!!!!
No the photo is n't squashed, but she looks better in real life.
It cost around £8000ish to build. £1500 was the spray job (paint is £120 per litre!) and I left it to a pro.
By the way, when is the next newlands meeting?

Should be Sunday 3rd of September - it's the first Sunday of each month. There are usually posts on here a week or two before asking who's
going and when. I'm hoping to be there, weather permitting

Bit of a bad day.
Took the car to Bognor, excellent through the bends!
But suffered overheating and had to Green flag her home (eventually after trying to fix). I changed the water pump and removed the stat.
I am hoping that the head gasket isn't cooked. Maybe an airlock in the top of the remote rad. I will sort out a pipe from the top of the rad to
the expansion bottle first, before I go down the head gasket route.

I get the same questions over and over like "how fast does it go?".
Everyone seems to do a "double take" as they go by. My 11 year old son loves it!

....so how fast does it go ?
Some people are worried about the difference between right and wrong. I'm worried about the difference between wrong and fun.

Don't know yet!!!!!!!!!
Suspect it is tops, 115mph. Its only a 1.4 k-series.
It is acceleration that is more important and road holding, which it seems to have.
Next stop a BEC
